The company HRS (Hydrogen Refuelling Solutions) has announced that it will lay the foundation stone for its new production, research and testing plant in Champagnier, near Grenoble, on November 25 as the Hydrogen days in the Territories get underway in Dunkirk.

HSR, which is already established in the vicinity of Champ-sur-Drac, owns the largest station production plant in France and has chosen to ensure its development in this area. The company thus confirms its desire to support the dynamic initiated by the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region* in terms of hydrogen.

The new HRS production plant will be the largest in Europe with a surface area of 14,300 m2 (154,000 ft2). Its capacity will be 180 stations per year, i.e. thrice the current production. The research centre will be dedicated to improving the performance and energy optimisation of high-capacity stations (over 2 tonnes/day) in order to facilitate their deployment while supporting the arrival of heavy vehicles and the deployment of hydrogen mobility. It will come with a test area. The new complex, which will be operational at the end of 2022/beginning of 2023, will create more than 150 direct and indirect jobs by 2025.

The event will be attended by Laurent Wauquiez, President of the Auvergne-Rhône Alpes Region, Christophe Ferrari, President of Grenoble Alpes Métropole and Florent Cholat, Mayor of Champagnier.

*The company is the Hympulsion supplier for the Zero-Emission Valley network of stations, one of the largest hydrogen mobility deployment projects in Europe (20 stations and 1,200 vehicles planned).
