The subsidiary of Energy Observer had deployed two hydrogen generators in Saint Tropez to supply energy to part of the reception areas until September 11.

Energy Observer Developments (EODev), which previously used its hydrogen solutions at the 24 hours of Le Mans and the French Formula 1 Grand Prix at Le Castellet, is now a partner of this international sailing competition. This year’s 5th round of the competition was held in Saint-Tropez in France.

(The) SailGP teams were given access to a GEH2* by EODev as early as 2021 in order to try out the audiovisual production systems’ power supply.

Following a first successful test, it was decided that the whole of the sport logistic (technical bases, competitors’ battery chargers, lighting, as well as the energy provided to all the teams) would be supplied by Energy Observer. Indeed, the group will be able to provide a noiseless emission-free feedstock instead of using the usual diesel generators.

This is a way to support the championship’s initiatives, which aim to cut its carbon footprint by 55% by 2025.
