McPhy: a contract for two electrolysers in Central Europe

The French manufacturer has announced the signature of an agreement with a key player in the energy sector. The final investment decision (FID) will be known by the end of the year.

If all goes according to plan, commissioning will take place in 2026. The contract covers the supply, assembly and commissioning of two ‘McLyzer 3200-30’ electrolysers with a total capacity of 24 MW. The country is not specified (all that is known is that it is in Central Europe), nor is the customer.

This new reference ‘represents a significant step forward’ for McPhy’s scaling up. A few months ago, the French group was selected by the Oil & Gas division of HMS in Germany for a 64 MW project with 4 units of the same electrolysers. They will be operated as part of a major hydrogen network connection point at the compressor station in the south-west of the country.

The company will publish its half-year financial results for 2024 on 29 October.
