Stellantis Unveils New Hydrogen-Powered Vans at Hyvolution

In the absence of Hyvia, currently in receivership, Stellantis will be the sole manufacturer showcasing hydrogen-powered vans at this year’s Hyvolution. On display will be the full-size Peugeot e-Boxer Hydrogen and the mid-size Citroën ë-Jumpy Hydrogen.

While Stellantis chose the IAA in Hanover to debut the Opel e-Movano Hydrogen, tomorrow’s event in Paris will feature its counterpart, the Peugeot Boxer. This commercial vehicle boasts a load capacity of 17 m³ and a payload of 1,300 kg, delivering performance comparable to combustion-powered vans. It is also marketed in France under the Citroën brand as the e-Jumper Hydrogen. Equipped with a 45 kW fuel cell, an 11 kWh battery, and tanks holding 7.5 kg of hydrogen, it offers an impressive range of 500 km.

3 Million Kilometres for Mid-Size Vans

Visitors at the show will also get a glimpse of the updated e-Jumpy Hydrogen, which features a load capacity of up to 6.1 m³ and a payload of 1 tonne. This model achieves a range of 400 km and is also available under the Peugeot brand as the e-Partner Hydrogen. Stellantis reports that its mid-size hydrogen vans have already logged over three million kilometres in real-world conditions.

In France, taxi fleets such as Hype and Hysetco integrated the TPMR (Transport for People with Reduced Mobility) version of these vehicles during the summer Olympic Games, further demonstrating their versatility.

A Clear Commitment to Zero Emissions

“At Hyvolution, we will present our large hydrogen-powered vans, strengthen our offering of mid-size hydrogen vans, and reaffirm our commitment to zero tailpipe emissions,” said Xavier Peugeot, Director of the Stellantis Pro One Business Unit.

Jean-Michel Billig, Stellantis’ Chief Technology Officer for Hydrogen Mobility, will also be attending the Hyvolution Summit tomorrow morning. He is scheduled to participate in a roundtable discussion on the challenges facing hydrogen-powered mobility solutions.
