Lhyfe Secures $11 Million Grant for Second Hydrogen Project in Sweden

Lhyfe has once again secured $11 million in funding, having previously received the same amount for its first project in Trelleborg, Sweden’s southernmost municipality. This latest grant from Klimatklivet will support the construction of a green hydrogen production facility in Vaggeryd, located in Jönköping County in southern Sweden.

With a planned capacity of 10 MW, the facility could produce up to 4.4 tonnes of green, renewable hydrogen per day, supplying both the mobility and industrial sectors. Operations are expected to begin in 2027.

Strategically positioned between Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, Vaggeryd benefits from its proximity to major transport routes and logistics hubs.

Green hydrogen is a key enabler in the transition, strengthening the competitiveness of Swedish industry while increasing domestic energy security with locally produced energy,” says Sara Wihlborg, Lhyfe’s Director for Sweden.Additionally, the waste heat generated during the production process will be utilized in the existing district heating network in Vaggeryd,” she adds.

The project remains subject to local investment approvals, operating and environmental permits, and a final financial investment decision.
