Supported by GazelÉnergie, the Emil’Hy project in Europe has been selected by the European Commission under the European Interconnection Facility.

The project, which has undergone consultation in Saint-Avold (Moselle), involves the installation of hydrogen production units using water electrolysis at the Émile Huchet power station site. The goal is to produce 56,000 tonnes of renewable, low-carbon hydrogen per year. This hydrogen will be integrated into the MosaHYc network, a project led by NaTran (formerly GRTgaz) across the Greater Region, which includes France, Germany, and Luxembourg.

GazelÉnergie is thrilled with this European support, which “marks a significant step forward for the Emil’Hy project after the initial consultation and the submission of applications for administrative approval in 2024.” “This is a positive signal and confirmation that our commitment to a regional hydrogen policy since 2020 has been decisive,” says Franck Leroy, President of the Grand Est region, with satisfaction.
