The German motor show — now renamed IAA Mobility — will take place from 9 to 14 September in Munich, home to the iconic propeller badge. BMW will use the event to showcase its latest innovations.
The highlight of the 2025 show will be the BMW iX3, the first model built on the new Neue Klasse platform. This fully electric vehicle will feature bidirectional charging, and all future models, regardless of powertrain, will incorporate the brand’s latest advances in connectivity, on-board electronics, and sustainability.
The same applies to BMW’s forthcoming hydrogen-powered model, set for launch in 2028 and based on Toyota’s fuel cell technology. During the show, BMW experts will address the future of energy, covering topics such as fuel cells, alternative fuels (including e-fuels), plug-in hybrids, and electric charging solutions.
Like its Japanese partner, the German manufacturer champions a multi-energy approach, enabling it to serve use cases where batteries — whose value BMW does not dispute — may not be the optimal solution. This strategy reflects the message recently shared by CEO Oliver Zipse in the German press.
