The founder of Microsoft, who is very interested in energy transition and hydrogen, was in Texas and visited an Air Liquide plant in Houston.
On his website, Gates Notes, the famous American entrepreneur writes that he travelled to Texas to visit several pioneering companies in the energy of the future. And Air Liquide was among these companies. Bill Gates visited the La Porte facility, near Houston, where Air Liquide produces hydrogen for industrial use. The process uses methane reforming, but the site will be adapted to reduce emissions, says Gates while he reiterates his appreciation for hydrogen.
Matthieu Girard, CEO of Air Liquide American Holdings, wrote about the visit on a LinkedIn post, which included photos. The President of Air Liquide in the USA, Mike Graff, was also present during the visit. Recently, the same plant welcomed representatives from the State of Texas. In fact, The site has been selected by the newly formed Texas Hydrogen Production Policy Council.
Air Liquide points out that it is very active in the USA and is part of the 6 out of the 7 American hydrogen hubs selected by the Biden administration.
