As part of the Meet4Hydrogen event, and with the support of Club Vision Hydrogène, the organizers presented their annual Delivery Awards, recognizing pioneering hydrogen projects across France.
This year, the awards highlighted initiatives in Paris, Corsica, and Brittany. Several contenders were in the running, including Sogestran, Ephyra, Europe Technologies, Helion (Alstom), the Lycée Maritime de Bastia, K-Challenge, and Terega. In the end, three projects were selected as winners.
Award-Winning Hydrogen Projects
First Prize: Sogestran – Zulu 06
Sogestran won first prize for its Zulu 06 project, the first hydrogen-powered river vessel. This urban distribution boat operates on the Seine between Gennevilliers and Paris and is part of the EU-funded Flagships project.
Second Prize: Lycée Maritime de Bastia – Alba
The Lycée Maritime de Bastia received second prize for Alba, a hydrogen-powered training vessel for young fishermen. Supported by France 2030, it marks the first maritime training application of hydrogen propulsion. The vessel is equipped with two 70 kW fuel cells supplied by EODev and has been certified by Bureau Veritas.
Third Prize: ESTEBAM – Hydrogen-Powered Clam Barge
The third award went to ESTEBAM, an initiative to decarbonize fishing in Hillion Bay, Brittany, by replacing a clam barge’s diesel engine with a 6.6-litre V8 hydrogen engine developed by the Italian company Dumarey. Supported by the Brittany Region, the project was developed by a consortium including CCI Côtes d’Armor, CMV Amphibie, Pierre Delion/Architecture Navale, Europe Technologies – CIAM, and the Comité Régional de la Conchyliculture Bretagne-Nord.
These projects highlight the growing role of hydrogen in maritime transport and sustainable logistics, reinforcing France’s commitment to decarbonization.
