GTT Group subsidiary Elogen has announced the delivery of a 2.5 MW PEM electrolyser for the Baseload Power Hub (BLPH), a project connected to the Hollandse Kust Noord offshore wind farm.
Led by CrossWind, a joint venture between Shell and Eneco, the project integrates wind power with green hydrogen production to create a more flexible energy system. Initially designed for offshore deployment, the BLPH will ultimately be installed onshore in Eemshaven, the Netherlands. The system will store surplus wind energy as green hydrogen during periods of high production and convert it back into electricity when demand exceeds supply.
This delivery follows a successful on-site integration test, which confirmed the electrolyser’s performance and operational readiness. The equipment was ordered in February 2023. The final commissioning phase, overseen by Elogen, lasted 17 weeks and was completed ahead of the platform’s scheduled departure in early August.
“Achieving this in just 30 months demonstrates the agility of our teams and the robustness of our technology for dynamic energy systems,” said Eric Minaux, CEO of Elogen.
