Energy Observer Book
Tomorrow, Gallimard Editions will publish ‘ Voyage au coeur des enjeux énergétiques, Energy Observer’ (A journey to the heart of energy issues, Energy Observer). Hydrogen Today gives you a sneak preview of the book.
We’ve known about this book for some time now, and Victorien Erussard referred to it when the Energy Observer boat returned to Saint-Malo last June, and then more recently in September, when the hydrogen catamaran’s stopover in Paris was presented. We had already devoted an article (in French) to this book.
This time, we can talk about it with the book in our hands. It’s a beautiful 260-page book, with lots of photos, some of them absolutely extraordinary. We loved the visuals of Saint-Malo, Paris, but also Venice, Spitzbergen in Norway and so many other places (under the Golden Gate, in Amazonia….). It’s also a book that reads like a travelogue. You’ll find out all about the origins of the project (Le navire laboratoire/The laboratory ship) and the highlights of this odyssey, divided into chapters for each part of the world (Mediterranean, Northern Europe, Atlantic, Pacific, Asia, then Africa, South America, North America, and finally the return journey to France.
Written by Gilles Luneau, the book includes a foreword by Jean Jouzel (IPCC climatologist) and an introduction by Victorien Erussard. Over the pages, the book discusses climate, hydrogen, wind power, hydroelectricity and even nuclear power. At the end of the journey, there are photos of the Energy Observer team. And, of course, Victorien is looking forward to seeing you on other projects.
For the record, we’ve done the math: Hydrogen Today has written 186 articles in 7 years about the Energy Observer.
