It’s not just Indonesia… During President Emmanuel Macron’s official visit to Vietnam, Hydrogène de France (HDF Energy) signed a major memorandum of understanding with Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) in Hanoi.
HDF Energy CEO Damien Havard was invited to a closed-door meeting with President Macron, attended by Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, along with both French and Vietnamese energy ministers. The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss ongoing and future energy projects in Vietnam.
HDF Energy, a developer of Renewstable green hydrogen power plants and high-power fuel cell solutions, formalised a strategic partnership with EVNSPC, a subsidiary of the national electricity utility Vietnam Electricity (EVN).
The agreement covers the development of five hybrid hydrogen-hydropower plants in remote island communities in the South China Sea. These areas remain heavily reliant on polluting diesel generators. The total investment for the projects is estimated at €500 million.
