Hensoldt, a longstanding partner of Airbus, will provide a functional integration bench based on its Alysa solution for the ZEROe project. This initiative aims to develop hydrogen-powered aircraft demonstrators by 2035.
The integration bench, developed by Hensoldt Nexeya France, will be instrumental in validating the control and monitoring system for the hydrogen propulsion chain. This system will be tested on an Airbus A380, which has been converted into a testbed in Toulouse. The bench will support the integration and validation of critical systems, serving as a cornerstone for laboratory tests ahead of the aircraft’s first hydrogen-powered flight. Ultimately, the results will help Airbus secure the necessary “permit to fly” for its hydrogen demonstrator.
“With over 50 integration benches already in use at Airbus, this latest collaboration highlights the expertise of Hensoldt Nexeya France and the strategic importance of the Alysa software in shaping the future of aerospace innovation,” says Aliette Quint, President of Hensoldt Nexeya France.
