The young French brand, which is making a 100% hydrogen sports saloon car, is delighted to have reached its target of the first 1,000 pre-orders for the Machina. It took merely three months after the Alpha 0 demonstrator was revealed on June 17 of this year.
Not bad for a car that no one has yet seen being driven… Admittedly, buyers only had to pay €410 (about $474), but still… The announced price from €120,000 (about $139,000) positioned the Machina in the mid-luxury segment and the completion of this operation represents an on-board turnover of €120 million (about $138.8 million) by 2025 -the planned delivery date of the vehicles.
This is a key signal for the company which was founded in 2019 and whose ambition is to reach a one billion euro turnover by 2030 (about $1.157 billion).
“I welcome future users of the Hopium Machina to our community,” said driver Olivier Lombard, CEO and founder of the brand.
