Hyundai fuel cell car now on sale in France
What a nice Surprise! Hyundai has announced the public pricing of its fuel cell car: the ix35 FC for France. The first fuel cell model of the Korean carmaker is sold €59700, VAT included and with the help of a €6300 super bonus from public authorities. It’s the first car of its category available in the country.
At the moment, only two cars have been homologated in France. They’re leased by Air Liquide. The french subsidiary of Hyundai is ready to adress customers, but the problem is the lack of infrastructure. Compared to Germany or northern Europe, France doesn’t have hydrogen stations. However, the carmarker is confident and believes the situation may change.
Toyota has not decided yet when the Mirai will be launched in France (probably after 2017). So, for the next two years, Hyundai should be alone on that emerging market. The Korean OEM reminds it has already delivered hydrogen cars in 11 countries.
