The 2025 edition of the Journées Hydrogène dans les Territoires (JH2T) in Lyon will focus on “reality and necessity”, combining round tables and workshops to explore key hydrogen topics. The event will also feature several highlights, including a joint statement on the Hyfen project, the France Hydrogène Awards, and a keynote speaker.
Co-organised by France Hydrogène and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, this year’s JH2T will take place in Lyon, at the regional council’s headquarters. Designed by architect Christian de Portzamparc, the venue is located in the futuristic Confluence district, close to the city’s historic centre.
The programme reflects the strong momentum of regional initiatives—highlighting their role in the hydrogen sector and the socio-economic benefits they bring. It will also align with the revised national hydrogen strategy, featuring sessions on topics such as industrial decarbonisation, transport, and storage infrastructure. Mobility will also take centre stage in two dedicated workshops: one on scaling up hydrogen-powered road mobility, and another on synthetic fuels.
Three major highlights have already been announced. On the opening day, a joint declaration on the Hyfen corridor project will be presented, initiated by Natran. CEO Sandrine Meunier will be joined by representatives from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Sud, Grand Est, and Occitanie regions. The project aims to connect industrial hubs, as well as hydrogen producers and consumers, via a network of pipelines. It forms part of the European hydrogen backbone and builds on the Barmar link, which is included in the H2MED corridor.
The day will conclude with the France Hydrogène Awards ceremony, held during a special evening event at Lyon’s historic Palais de la Bourse.
To close the conference, a keynote speech will be delivered by Raphaël Dinelli—former navigator, engineer, and pilot. As CEO and Technical Director of 49SUD, he will share the story of Climate Impulse, the first zero-emission, non-stop round-the-world flight, completed in collaboration with Bertrand Piccard.
On 3 July, those staying for technical visits (including CEA-Liten, HRS, Symbio, Iveco, and Hympulsion) will have the chance to ride in the first hydrogen-powered buses retrofitted by GCK Mobility. These vehicles will be used to transport participants to the various sites.
