Following the release of France’s revised hydrogen strategy this morning, green hydrogen producer Lhyfe has welcomed the announcement as “excellent news for France and Europe”.
“We’ve been waiting for this for several months,” said Matthieu Guesné, founder and CEO of Lhyfe. “It provides the framework and visibility that stakeholders across the ecosystem need to make informed decisions and move forward.”
He continued: “By setting a realistic production target of 4.5 GW by 2030, and by backing this up with subsidies and a support mechanism for low-carbon and renewable hydrogen production, the government is equipping itself with the tools needed to match its ambitions.”
Lhyfe, which operates in 12 countries, began rolling out production sites in France and across Europe in 2021. The company’s mission is to make green and renewable hydrogen available in industrial volumes, helping to decarbonise entire sectors of industry and heavy transport.
“France is home to major players in the sector, which will help reinforce the entire value chain and position the country as a European leader,” added Guesné.
