French company Mantle8 has officially joined Hydrogen Europe, the continent’s leading hydrogen industry association. This move marks a strategic step forward in Mantle8’s ambition to position natural hydrogen as a low-cost, climate-neutral pillar of Europe’s long-term energy mix.
We’ve previously introduced Mantle8, a company based in France that specialises in the exploration of natural hydrogen. Founded in 2024 by Emmanuel Masini, Mantle8 brings together a team of geoscientists with over 20 years of experience. The core team previously worked together at M&U, a geological consultancy and research firm.
Joining Hydrogen Europe is a natural next step. The association brings together more than 600 companies and organisations committed to advancing the hydrogen economy, covering everything from production and infrastructure to mobility. As a member, Mantle8 will contribute to working groups on regulation, certification, and geological hydrogen sources. This will allow the company to play an active role in shaping the standards and regulatory frameworks necessary to incorporate natural hydrogen into Europe’s decarbonisation strategy.
