Ohmium, a company that designs, manufactures, and deploys advanced Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolysers is currently involved in two hydrogen projects in Europe. One in Croatia, the other in the Netherlands.
10 MW of electrolysers to produce hydrogen in Croatia
Ohmium has been selected to equip the first green hydrogen project in Croatia. The order has been passed by IVICOM, a leading Croatian engineering and construction company.
10 MW of PEM electrolysers will thus be provided to build a green hydrogen plant at the INA Rijeka Refinery. The project will pair Ohmium’s PEM electrolysers with a new solar power plant to produce green hydrogen. INA’s Rijeka Refinery will supply sustainable fuel for Croatia’s transportation market. The project and affiliated solar plant are supported by the Croatian government’s Recovery and Resilience Facility. The project also advances Croatia’s National Hydrogen strategy goals, which are to install 70 MW of hydrogen production facilities by 2030, and to ramp up to 2.75 GW by 2050. This will help achieve climate neutrality by 2050.
5.4 MW of electrolysers for the Netherlands
HYGRO, a Dutch provider of green hydrogen, will team up with Ohmium to develop a new hydrogen production and distribution project in North Holland. The 5.4 MW pilot project will pair Ohmium PEM electrolysers with HYGRO wind turbines for hydrogen production, storage and distribution. The hydrogen produced will supply refuelling stations throughout the region. This pilot project, which will be located at the EWEF Wind Park in Wieringerwerf, is due in 2025.
