The presence of the Extreme H buggy (as mentioned in our article earlier today) was no coincidence. The vehicle was presented to Prince Albert of Monaco, who took the wheel before officially opening the hydrogen forum.
The surprise was well kept under wraps. Dressed in a driver’s suit, the Prince made his way to the Hôtel Hermitage in the early afternoon. Escorted by motorcyclists, he traveled from the Palace to the forum venue in just a few minutes. His arrival was captured by photographers and TV crews from the local press, and we were there too, thanks to the extra tips shared by the forum organizers.
Once out of the buggy, Prince Albert shared that driving it was a real pleasure. Besides rally competitions, he believes hydrogen is an energy of the future, complementing electric mobility. He emphasized the need to better communicate its benefits, which is why he is attending the Monaco forum. The Prince will return tomorrow, though without the buggy. It’s clear that Monaco is deeply interested in transport applications for hydrogen.
After posing for a group photo with the leaders of Extreme H (Alejandro Agag and Ali Russell) and the forum organizer (John Rossant), the Prince went to change. As for the buggy, it’s back on the road but will be displayed at the casino later.
