The founder and CEO of HRS is part of the latest class of the Legion of Honour.
On its LinkedIn account, the ‘Grande Chancellerie’ of the Legion of Honour made a post to highlight Hassen Rachedi, who has been made a knight of the Legion of Honour. This was a reminder that he is an autodidact and a pioneer in hydrogen mobility.
After obtaining a CAP (a French NVQ) in boiler making, Hassan Rachedi began his professional career in 1983 at the age of 18 and forged his skills as a pipe fitter by taking part in several temporary works. In 2001, he joined a company on a permanent contract where he was respectively site manager and sales development manager. And in 2004, he created his own company: TSM, a specialist in complex industrial piping, working in particular in nuclear power plants.
In 2008, in a context of energy transition and strong interest in hydrogen, the entrepreneur became fascinated by this new sector and decided to change his company’s activity. TSM was renamed HRS (Hydrogen Refueling Solutions) and became a specialist in hydrogen refueling stations. The jewel of French industry (TotalEnergies, Engie, Shell…) are its customers.
In 2021, HRS was listed on the stock exchange. Hassen Rachedi, who was awarded the ‘Victoires des autodidactes’* prize that same year, then committed his company to doubling its industrial capacity by investing, recruiting and expanding internationally. Today, HRS is one of the European leaders in its sector.
*The ‘Victoires des autodidactes’ is an event which has been awarding, since 1989, the exemplary career of company managers (entrepreneurs or executives) who have the particularity of being “self-made men.”
