Sorigny’s refuelling station will open in summer 2023

The federation of municipalities ‘Touraine Vallée de l’Indre’ (Centre Region) has announced the start of construction works on the hydrogen refuelling station it will be offering near the A10 motorway, south of Tours. The station is part of the European COSMHYC DEMO project which aims to test a new compression technology.

According to the schedule, construction and civil engineering works will be completed by the end of the year, followed by the electrical installations early next year. The station will be delivered in spring by Nel Hydrogen, which is also a partner in the project, and it will be  operating in early summer 2023.

The refuelling point, which will offer full tank of 350 and 700 bar, will also feature a new hydrogen compression solution developed as part of the COSMHYC DEMO project. Since 2017, the technology has evolved and is now ready to be tested in real-life conditions. The federation of municipalities’ existing fleet – several fuel cell utility vehicles, including a refuse lorry (funded under the Interreg NEW HECTOR project) – will demonstrate the commercial maturity of this compression solution.
