Inovyn will supply hydrogen trucks in Eastern France

Inovyn, the London-based subsidiary of the Ineos group, is going to invest in its Tavaux site (Jura, France) to produce hydrogen and thus supply regional transport.

Through the “ReadHy to move” project, which will concern the whole of Eastern France, Inovyn will collaborate with the Inthy group and its Swiss ally Alpiq.

In a first joint venture, HyMove, the partners will invest in a new hydrogen distribution network for heavy transport in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region. The refuelling stations will be powered by some of the hydrogen produced in Tavaux. Inovyn is Europe’s largest operator of electrolysis technology. As such, the group produces more than 10,000 tonnes of carbon-free hydrogen on its Jura site. The planned investment in new purification and compression systems will make it possible to offer hydrogen of a quality in line with transport needs from 2026.

HyWay, a second joint venture between the Inthy Group and Alpiq, will also offer hydrogen trucks in the region to companies who want to decarbonise their logistics.
