Hydrogen Congress Latin America

The Hydrogen Congress for Latin America & the Caribbean (H2LAC 2023) ended yesterday. This year, the region’s preeminent hydrogen conference took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 13 to 15.

Last year, more than 250 public and private sector leaders from 25 countries joined the event in Cartagena, Colombia. It was by far the largest gathering of the regional hydrogen market that year. Here’s a short video clip about last year’s event.

Latin America’s most attended Hydrogen Congress

Several speakers from all over Latin America took the floor during the 3rd annual Hydrogen Congress. The Brazilian Minister of Mines & Energy, the Hon. Alexandre Silveira, did a keynote on how will the new government support the scaling up of a hydrogen economy in Brazil. Many governors also spoke such as Cláudio Castro (State of Rio) or Elmano de Freitas (State of Ceará). There were also representatives from nearby countries : Walter Verri, the Uruguayan Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining, Dafne Pino Riffo, who works at Chile’s Regional Secretary of Energy, or Alberto José Antillón Arroyo, the Costa Rican Director, Ministry of Environment and Energy.

Next step: Hyvolution Chile

The race for hydrogen is quickening in South America with Hyvolution being held for the first time in Latin America. The event will take place in Santiago, Chile, from June 28 to 30. As a side note, we will be there cover this world’s first in South America. Hyvolution Chile has a very broad programme ranging for instance from the new uses and applications of green hydrogen in mining, aquaculture and logistics to Chile’s national green hydrogen strategy. The event will also encompass a strong international outlook addressing issues such as the Chile-European hydrogen value chain or tackling the reality of green hydrogen throughout the world.
