2024: A pivotal year for Hexagon Purus

Hexagon Purus, the Norwegian company specialised in hydrogen storage, held its general meeting on January eleventh and took stock of its projects.

The company managed to raise 1 billion Krones in a fund-raiser in which Hexagon Composites, Mitsui and Hy24 Partners took part with a total of 850 millions. You can find more details on the topic in this article. The main takeaway is that 2024 is set out to be a “significant year” for Hexagon Purus. The tank-manufacturer intends to scale-up with its five new plants in Westminster (Maryland, USA), Kelowna (Canada), Kassel and Weeze (Germany) and Shijiazhuang (China). Another American site should be opening in Dallas (Texas) this year.

Hexagon Purus CEO, Morten Holum affirms: “We can continue to scale up our manufacturing capacity to deliver on existing customer contracts for hydrogen infrastructure and prepare for serial volume of zero emission mobility as demand increases.”

Towards the end of 2023, the company received numerous orders: a €9.6 million purchase order from a major green hydrogen player to store and deliver green hydrogen for industrial applications in Central Europe, another one of approximately €3 million from a global industrial gas company in the UK and an extension of an existing agreement with a major green hydrogen producer to cover hydrogen delivery for mobility and industrial applications in Europe. The extension of the agreement nears a minimum value of €17 million. Still in Europe, Hexagon Purus is to collaborate with Ford to deliver hydrogen fuel tanks. This collaboration is within the framework of a project in partnership with ZEFES (Zero Emission Freight EcoSystem).
