Vallourec, the world leader in premium seamless tubular solutions, has joined the Hydrogen Council as a supporting member, reaffirming its commitment to sustainable solutions and the decarbonisation of industrial sectors.

For those who may not be familiar, the Hydrogen Council is an international initiative comprising over 140 CEOs from the energy and transport sectors across more than 20 countries. The Council fosters collaboration among governments, industry, and investors to drive hydrogen development, and its membership includes major groups such as Alstom, Fuel Cell Energy, Chevron, Technip Energies, Petronas, and Bureau Veritas.

Vallourec believes it plays a pivotal role in shaping and structuring the hydrogen industry. The Group intends to capitalise on its expertise in hydrogen transport and storage. For instance, it has developed Delphy, an innovative vertical hydrogen storage solution.

Philippe Guillemot, Chairman and CEO of Vallourec, commented: “Close collaboration among all industry players will be decisive in transforming the ambition of a competitive hydrogen market into a sustainable reality.” He added, “Large-scale hydrogen storage represents a major challenge in developing green hydrogen infrastructure.”
