Caterpillar gets into hydrogen generator set

The American corporation has announced the arrival of generator sets running 100% on hydrogen (including renewable energy) by the end of the year. These systems will be made on demand. Caterpillar is already offering Cat generators running on natural gas and 25% hydrogen.

“Hydrogen fuel solutions help meet customers’ carbon reduction goals with efficient and cost-effective technologies,” summarises Joe Creed, the company’s energy expert. Caterpillar has some expertise regarding hydrogen having used the energy form to power turbines in a blend form. The company believes that the time has come to move to 100% hydrogen.
