Last week-end, GreenGT team presented the GreenGT H2, the first electric/hydrogen race-car model, on the Paul Ricard circuit, during the French leg of the FIA WTCC.
After a press conference led by Jean-François Weber and Olivier Panis, the GreenGT H2 was unveiled on the circuit starting line by Olivier and his son Aurélien. It was at 1.00 pm on Saturday 27 June, under a blue sky and in warm sunshine.
Then Olivier crossed a highly symbolic starting line for a demonstration of the full hydrogen* technology developed by GreenGT.
After this run, Olivier Panis said: “In all the disciplines in which I’ve raced, particularly F1, I’ve always been fascinated by the technology. The GreenGT H2 is an astonishing car. It’s a real
solution for the future; it emits only steam and operates without batteries. Its performance on the circuit and its autonomy are already equivalent to those of an internal combustion engine and there are still plenty of developments to come. Its technology can be used in any vehicle requiring high levels of power: industrial vehicles, buses, trucks, etc. Young drivers like my son Aurélien will soon have an opportunity to race in electric/hydrogen racing cars.”
*a new lightweight twin-engine powertrain, with a power of 400kW (or 540Hp), was developed for the H2 prototype.
