Hyundai and Toyota: a joint demo of their hydrogen-powered sports cars

While the two manufacturers’ CEOs are due to meet at the end of October in South Korea, a Hyundai N x TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Festival event has been announced for October 27.

The event will take place at Everland Speedway in Yong-in, South Korea. This is the first time that the sporting structures of the two brands, Hyundai N and TOYOTA GAZOO Racing, will be presenting high-performance models and sports cars together. It is worth noting that both brands will be exhibiting at least one hydrogen-powered model. Hyundai will be there with the N Vision 74, while Toyota will bring a revamped version of the AE86 Trueno with a hydrogen engine. This model was presented at the Tokyo Auto Salon in 2023.

In both cases, this is an allusion to the past. But each manufacturer is using its own solution: a fuel cell for Hyundai, a hydrogen engine for Toyota.

While the Korean press is speculating about a likely hydrogen cooperation between the two groups, all we know is that Akio Toyoda will be present at this sporting event. He is never the last to take to the track, especially with a hydrogen vehicle.
