Refire has supplied Yutong, better known for its buses and coaches, with its fuel cells. Yutong also has a truck division*, and is venturing into hydrogen.
Earlier this spring, 50 fuel cell-powered trucks from Yutong hit the road. The 49-tonne trucks were converted in partnership with Refire and delivered to a customer in China.The information was relayed on LinkedIn by Audrey Ma, Vice-President in charge of international markets at Refire. A month earlier, she had announced via the same medium the delivery of 120 kW fuel cells (with a double-digit number) to equip trucks in Germany.
The company has also appointed Massimo Venturi as Vice-President for Europe, a person with a great deal of experience in the automotive industry, having worked for Mercedes and Eberspächer.
In 2023, Refire announced that it had produced 1,800 fuel cells. These were used in projects relating to stationary and mobility applications. On its website, the company claims to have delivered over 4,000 fuel cell systems since it was founded in 2015.
*Operational since 2021. The manufacturer has already produced 17,000 trucks powered by alternative energies.
