Symbio, the joint venture owned by Faurecia and Michelin, has announced the foundation of its subsidiary in North America during the “Advanced Clean Transportation Expo 2021” (ACT Expo), an event that will take place in Long Beach, California, from August 30 to September 2.

On the US market, Symbio will focus on light-duty vehicles, medium commercial vehicles and heavy-duty vehicles in order to offer customized hydrogen solutions to automakers and fleet managers.

The French supplier’s solutions are compact, efficient and easy to install in existing engine compartments. The ACT Expo will feature a 150 kW product that is particularly suited to pick-up trucks as well as light, medium and heavy duty vehicles.

Symbio North America is run by Rob Del Core, who previously worked as a strategy manager at Hyzon. He had also worked for Hydrogenics. The Vice-President of the new subsidiary is familiar with hydrogen specifically in the medium and heavy sustainable mobility sectors.
