The Japanese manufacturer Toyota, which is unveiling several track-ready versions of the Yaris, highlights its commitment to technological neutrality. One of these models features a new 2-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged engine.

The standout news is the GR Yaris M Concept, equipped with a mid-mounted engine and a 2.0-litre turbocharged inline 4-cylinder engine currently under development. This new engine pushes the limits of both performance and efficiency, and it will run on carbon-neutral fuel.

All Toyota Gazoo Racing (TGR) World Championship programmes now use sustainable fuels. For instance, the GR YARIS Rally1 in the WRC and the GR010 HYBRID in Endurance both run on 100% renewable biofuels. At the Dakar Rally, TGR introduced a fuel blend containing 70% renewable components through its partnership with Repsol.

Building on innovations from Rookie Racing with the GR Corolla H2, a hydrogen-powered race car, TGR has also showcased a potential hydrogen-powered future for rallying and motorsport. This includes the development of the GR Yaris H2 and GR H2 Racing Concept prototypes.

In 2025, TGR will continue to invest in the development of new technologies.
