The European Hydrogen Academy is an initiative funded by the European Commission as part of the Horizon Europe Programme. It aims to transform the educational scene to boost the growing hydrogen industry.
Under the light of a booming hydrogen market and an estimation of over a million qualified workers in Europe by 2030, the European Hydrogen Academy is built around a consortium of 15 partners (and 2 associate partners) led by Birmingham University (UK). The University of Technology of Belfort-Montbéliard, UTBM is the only French member. The programme brings together universities, companies and foundations from several European countries, namely: Germany, Belgium, Bulgaria, Spain, Italy, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Romania and the United Kingdom (England and Northern Ireland).
An extension of the project in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region
The European Hydrogen Academy is a strategic global project with an emphasis on sustainable practices and industry-specific expertise. The project was conceived to provide the European job market with an expertise in hydrogen-technology. It also aims to improve basic notions at universities, enhance technological expertise in vocational education and to strengthen DeepTech knowledge at university level. The European Hydrogen Academy (HyAcademy.EU), aspires to establish a comprehensive academic career, from classroom to workplace, and to implement the programme, initially, in 100 universities and 500 schools across Europe.
The Academy is fully in line with the project “École nationale de l’hydrogène”, supported by the Regional Council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté and the entirety of the region’s players which enables it to go international.
