Qair has announced the signing of a contract with Plug Power for the sale of hydrogen produced by electrolysis. This is a further step in the development of this emblematic project in the Occitania region.

The hydrogen supplied to Plug under the sales contract will be produced by Hyd’Occ. The latter is a renewable hydrogen production plant developed by Qair with AREC Occitania*. As you may know, the foundation stone for the site was laid on 29 June.

The contract between Hyd’Occ and Plug Power will take effect when the hydrogen production unit is commissioned, i.e. by the end of 2024. With an initial duration of 10 years, this agreement demonstrates the long-term commitment of both parties regarding hydrogen as an energy solution. It also represents an important step in the deployment of Hyd’Occ’s first 20 MW unit, which will eventually produce 6,000 tonnes of renewable hydrogen per year for a total capacity of 50 MW.

Under the terms of the agreement, Hyd’Occ has undertaken to supply Plug Power with compressed hydrogen. The American company will thus be able to meet its customers’ demand and support their decarbonisation projects.
