Elogen will deliver a 2.5 MW electrolyser to South Korea

Elogen electrolyser

Elogen, a subsidiary of the GTT group, has announced the signing of a new contract with Valmax for an electrolyser to be delivered to South Korea. This proton exchange membrane electrolyser will have a capacity of 2.5 MW.

This is the second contract signed between Elogen and Valmax as part of the collaboration agreement signed in May 2022. The latter planned the supply of electrolysers to South Korea destined to produce green hydrogen (read our previous article). The order is for a product with a production capacity of up to 1 tonne of hydrogen per day. This electrolyser is an integral part of a mobility project located in Buan, in the province of North Jeolla (Western South Korea).

The project consortium* was selected in 2022 as the first of the “Basic Projects for Hydrogen Production by Water Electrolysis” by the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy. Valmax will assemble the electrolyser on site, and Elogen will deliver it to Buan in 2025.

*Comprising Buan’s Jeonbuk Techno Park, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, Hyundai Engineering & Construction, Techcross Water & Energy and Techcross Environmental Service.
