Lhyfe, the French green hydrogen producer, has announced its first production plant project in Spain, with a production capacity of up to 5 t/day.
While Lhyfe already has an operational production site in France (at Bouin, in Vendée), seven production sites are under construction across Europe. And it is in the province of Tarragona that a new plant is to be built.
Based at Valmoll, the production site, with an installed capacity of 15 MW, will supply up to 5 tonnes of green hydrogen a day to local industrial companies. This will start in 2026. Among potential customers, Lhyfe is targeting players in the chemicals and other industrial sectors, as well as transport and logistics companies looking to replace their fleets (lorries, forklift trucks) with less polluting vehicles.
Lhyfe’s project is one of 14 in Spain selected in 2023 to receive funding from H2 Pioneros. It will receive a grant of €14 million (about $15.2 million).
