Tokyo Motor Show is still open and visitors can see hydrogen cars from Honda and Toyota, as well as concept cars from Lexus and Daimler. But, what about Nissan ? The CEO, Carlos Ghosn, still appears reticent about the technology. But, in a interview with Automotive News, he said that the brand is developing a fuel-cell car. The point is that this model won’t be launched before 2020, as the company is “not in a hurry”.
Nissan believes it is “too early” to launch a fuel-cell.
Ghosn said Nissan is not under the same amount of pressure as other carmakers, because it already has a “zero-emission solution”: the Leaf, which is the most selled electric car in the world.
