HRS, the French manufacturer of hydrogen refuelling stations, is setting up in Spain. Hydrogen Refuelling Solutions is opening its first international subsidiary in the Iberian Peninsula. The company has already sold 9 hydrogen refuelling stations in Spain for its customers pHYnix and Plug Power.

It has both a large capacity for producing green hydrogen at competitive costs and extensive technical knowledge of the local players. All this represents a major opportunity for HRS to expand its presence in Europe, in direct line with our internationalisation strategy,” says Hassen Rachedi, Founder and CEO of HRS.

According to the government’s green hydrogen roadmap of October 2020, Spain will need more than 150 hydrogen stations by 2030. The opening of this subsidiary is therefore a step in the right direction, both for Spain’s objectives and those of HRS. “One of our objectives is to refuel vehicles with 100% green hydrogen within three years, as soon as it becomes available in Spain,” adds Olivier Dhez, Managing Director of HRS.

In addition, HRS has just signed a partnership with the Spanish company H2 & Biogas Technology for the development of mobility projects and the supply of green hydrogen.

A few figures about HRS

A few figures about HRSTo date, HRS has built 70 hydrogen refuelling stations. Their offer includes 3 models with different capacities: 14, 40 and 80 kg/hour (between 300 kg and 1t/day). Their offer can address both light and heavy road mobility. It should be noted that HRS can produce up to 60 units a year.

On 30 June 2022, the French company had 78 employees.
