As part of the Monaco Hydrogen Forum, Heven – a company based in Israel and the USA – is exhibiting a hydrogen-powered drone. The start-up wants to deploy zero-emission drones for various types of missions.
Located right at the entrance to the conference room, in the basement of the Hôtel Hermitage in Monaco, this drone does not go unnoticed. We saw a number of participants taking photos and even selfies. A good PR operation for Heven. Founded by Bentzion Levinson, the CEO who is on site, the company brings together experts in innovation, hydrogen and defence. The website lists Plug as one of its partners.
The start-up’s products incorporate not only hydrogen technology (for longer flights), but also stability control software and artificial intelligence. Heven is developing a whole range of drones (including the hydrogen-powered H2D200, which is being exhibited in Monaco). They are destined to be used from surveillance of sensitive sites to forest fire prevention and last-mile delivery. The models can fly up to 500 miles on a single tank of fuel (around 800 km).
“We are at a turning point for the drone industry”, says Heven CEO Bentzion Levinson, who is planning to expand his business in Europe. This morning he took part in a round table discussion on air transport with Josef Kallo from H2Fly, Matthieu Piron from Hydrogen Airport (Air-Liquide/ADP) and Olivier Savin from Blue Spirit Aero.
