Hyports has awarded the first prize to LMG Marin

Hyports LMG Marin

The Norwegian consultant firm LMG Marin, which has a subsidiary in France, won a Delivery Award at Meet4Hydrogen-Hyports in Marseille on Wednesday, 24 March. It succeeds EODev, who won the first prize last year.

LMG Marin is a world leader in hydrogen propulsion and has participated in the development of the world’s first liquid hydrogen ship in Norway. Named Hydra, this 82-metre ferry is equipped with two 200 kW fuel cells, combined with an 80 m3 liquid hydrogen tank. In France, LMG is also involved in several pioneering projects, including the development of a hydrogen-powered river vessel for the French group Sogestran (a project supported by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 programme). The structure employs around 20 engineers and naval architects in Toulouse.

The second prize was awarded to Europe Technologies and the third to CMB.Tech/BeHydro. This selection of the top three was the subject of very close discussions within the jury, which included Michel Delpon (hydrogen ambassador for France 2030) and European deputy – and sailor – Catherine Chabaud.)

The other participants were Atawey, ENSOSP, Helion Power, Hydrogen Afloat, Lhyfe and GRTGaz.
